myLiquitab is a world’s first technology that has been developed and tested over a period of 15 years. Through much research and development, prototyping and testing, we have created an innovative technology that is now packaged in a compact unit that is simple to use at home, by all family members.
The myLiquitab Homecare Unit has been designed to be used in the homecare environment for 5-6 people, each taking medications 5-6 times a day. The myLiquitab Homecare Unit assists the user to go about their daily routine without the concerns and the time consuming practice of crushing tablets. The unit’s contemporary design is at home in any domestic setting.
The myLiquitab System includes a range of flavours, with beakers and lids to aid in the dispensing of medication.
The myLiquitab Homecare Unit has been designed to assist the user in their daily routine and provide confidence and convenience for all.
For those caring for others and assisting them with the dispensing of their medication the OH&S benefits and the time-savings are significant with the myLiquitab Homecare System.
“Variation in crushing method and outcomes was assessed by asking 3 different operators to follow these guidelines to crush a tablet. The results indicated a highly operator-dependent process- resulting in different delivered dose and particle sizes. The myliquitab device does not depend on the operator, thus less of a source of variation in dose delivered.”#
Monash University’s Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre has completed a study on the myLiquitab Homecare Unit. Their report found the myLiquitab Homecare Unit disperses over 95% of the tablets into the liquid in under 4 minutes. (some tablets take less time).
The report states that the myLiquitab System is a ‘leap forward’ as it disperses rather than crushes medication. Put simply if you crush medication the resulting small pieces of broken medication is hard to swallow. By dispersing medication into liquid with myLiquitab there are no pieces.
myLiquitab is a better solution than crushing medication as reported by Monash University’s Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre;
- ultrasonics has no effect on the ‘pharmacokinetics’
- there is minimal heat produced by myLiquitab, resulting in no affect on the medication
- the flavouring agent had no observed effect on drug disintegration and was not considered likely to have any effect on dosing
- medications can be mixed in the myLiquitab Homecare Unit*
*myLiquitab recommends you consult your doctor or pharmacist regarding the medications used.
